Russian Air Force Antonov An-124-100 crashed in a residential area, December 6, 1997
On December 6, 1997, a Russian Air Force Antonov An-124-100 (Ruslan), en route from Irkutsk to Cam Ranh Air Base in Vietnam, crashed in a residential area after take-off. 72 people died: all the crew and 49 people on the ground, among them 14 children.
