Stumbled across this sub recently, and love all the history in here. Wanted to share some Canadian history with some folks who might not be aware of this.

Titanic’s sister ship, the HMT Olympic, painted in dazzle camouflage for WWI, when the luxury liner served as a troop transport across the Atlantic. Note the guns added to the bow. c1917.

The Olympic became most famous for sinking a U-Boat (U-103) in the English Channel by ramming it as it attempted to fire on the Olympic. Read more here.

USS Alcedo while off NY City in August 1917. While escorting a convoy en route to Brest, France, Alcedo was torpedoed and sunk by UC-71 on 5 November 1917. Twenty-one crewmembers were lost with the ship. She was the first American vessel lost in WWI.
