The rally was held by the American German Bund, a pro-Germany/pro-Nazi organization), on Feb 20, 1939. With 22,000 sieg heiling New Yorkers in attendance the event signaled the extent of the infiltration into American society by pro-Nazi operatives. Many of the leaders and high ranking members were rounded up during the war and were interred in the same concentration camps as the Japanes and, to a far lesser extent, Italian Fascistis.
